Power transmission
regulation
and control
unit — BRUEP
Device function
BRUEP is designed to provide a regulating effect on power transmission by controlling the excitation current of the traction generator
The power regulation and control unit is a component of the microprocessor control and diagnostics system for the electrical transmission of AC-DC diesel locomotives
The device receives signals from the traction generator and traction motor parameter sensors and provides signals to the control equipment of the diesel locomotive’s electrical transmission system
Structure
BRUEP consists of the following units:
- Controller module – control, measurement, communication unit; ensures the operation of algorithms, diagnostics, measurement of analog signals, exchange of information with all nodes of the unit and peripheral devices of the diesel locomotive
- I/O modules – controllers that ensure the reception of discrete signals coming from the locomotive circuit and the output of discrete signals to the locomotive circuit
- Power supply module – the unit converts the voltage of the on-board network of the diesel locomotive with the nominal voltage of the on-board network into a stabilized constant voltage for powering all BRUEP modules
BRUEP has a CAN v2.0 digital communication channel, through which the diesel locomotive is connected to the digital local network
This unit in various modifications was installed on diesel locomotives: 2ТЕ10, ТЕМ2, ТЕМ7, ТGМ4
