Fire alarm and extinguishing system - ТYSA-2

System purpose
The TYSA-2 system is designed for:
- Automatic detection of fires at an early stage of their development
- Timely notification of the driver about the location of the fire
- Activation of fire extinguishing systems in control zones in manual or automatic modes
- Disconnecting/connecting equipment and various devices in the event of a fire hazard
- Notification of the use of fire extinguishing systems
- Preservation of information about all changes in system status in non-volatile memory with time-stamped events
The TYSA-2 system is developed for the mainline freight locomotive 2TE116 and can be adapted for other types of two-section locomotives, electric locomotives, as well as motor car rolling stock
System ensures
- Reception and processing of electrical signals from fire detectors for detecting fire hazards in protected areas
- Continuous monitoring of the integrity of fire loops (detecting open circuits or short circuits) and the integrity (detecting open circuits) of connections to activation units
- Continuous monitoring of the operational state of control elements and activation units
- Detection of fire sources in protected areas and issuing visual and audible alarms to the driver about their location
- Generation of the "Fire" signal when fire detectors in two loops are triggered, as well as issuing a warning when one of the detectors is triggered by activating external alarm systems
- Disconnecting electrical equipment and delaying the activation of fire extinguishing substance (FE) for 30 seconds (programmable)
- Automatic and manual release of fire extinguishing substance in the protected area
- Automatic switching from the main power source to the backup and vice versa
- Monitoring of the status of the backup power source and battery charge
Structure
TYSA-2 is built on a modular principle
System components: PPKP-2, BAP-1, IRP-4/26, IRP-4/9, smoke fire detectors CV8, heat fire detectors CV9, linear heat fire detectors Protectowire, fire extinguishing aerosol generators, powder fire extinguishing modules Sprut-1 and Sprut-6
01.
PPKP-2
Fire control and alarm panel PPKP-2
The PPKP-2 unit is designed to display the system status, receive information about the condition of fire loops from the BAP-1 unit, issue commands to the BAP-1 unit, and execute the fire extinguishing algorithm. The front panel of the PPKP-2 features indicators – LED lights, a graphic display, control elements – buttons, and an audible alarm. The software of the PPKP-2 control and monitoring device provides automatic and manual operation modes
02.
BAP-1
Addressable fire alarm unit
The addressable fire alarm block BAP-1H is designed for processing signals from fire loops, controlling the electrical activation units of fire extinguishing generators. It provides continuous monitoring for line breaks to the extinguishing generators, as well as for breaks and short circuits in the fire loops
03.
IRP-4/9
Backup power supply
The IRP-4/9 backup power supply provides power to the PPKP-2 unit after the shutdown of the onboard 110 V network for up to 24 hours (with an initial battery charge level of 100%) and in case of a failure of the PPKP-2 power supply. The IRP-4/9 includes a 9 Ah gel electrolyte battery and a charger
04.
IRP-4/26
05.
PDP-1
06.
SPD / SPT
07.
Protectowire
Linear heat fire detector Protectowire
The operating principle of the detector involves the destruction of the insulation covering made of heat-sensitive polymer under the pressure of conductors when the ambient temperature reaches the threshold value. As a result, the conductors connect with each other, which can occur at any point of overheating along the entire length of the detector
08.
SZO
09.
Fire extinguishers
Fire extinguishing aerosol generators
The aerosol mixture is based on a common substance — potassium carbonate K₂CO₃ (potash), under the action of which a flow of mixed gases and solid particles is generated. Extinguishing occurs due to the interruption of chain reactions at the epicenter of the fire
10.
Powder modules
Powder extinguishers modules
The Sprut-1 and Sprut-6 modules use a powder fire extinguishing mixture. Upon activation, the modules release fire extinguishing powder to suppress fires. Powder extinguishers are effective for combating various types of fires
The Sprut-1 modules are equipped with sensors for automatic fire detection and activation of the extinguishing system in autonomous mode
The Sprut-6 modules are connected via fire loops and receive activation signals from the BAP-1 block
