System purpose

MSKD system performs automatic control of the traction drive and electrical equipment, and also ensures monitoring of the parameters and technical condition of the systems, components, and assemblies of the locomotive

System ensures

  1. Reading analog and discrete input signals used for algorithm operation
  2. Information exchange with the locomotive units via digital CAN buses for algorithm operation
  3. Equipment control of the locomotive using algorithms, with discrete output signals
  4. Monitoring and detection of deviations in the operation of the locomotive equipment (exceeding critical and limit values of controlled parameters)
  5. Displaying on the screen of the onboard computer the data received from the locomotive devices in graphical and numerical formats and as emergency alerts with storage
  6. Recording information in the non-volatile memory of the onboard computer
  7. Connecting an external electronic storage device for reading data recorded in memory, for further decoding and archiving at the depot
  8. Internal diagnostics of its components with test results displayed on the screen
  9. Control of engine start/stop according to the algorithm agreed upon with the customer and engine manufacturer
  10. Operation control of the motor-compressor, using the pressure data of the supply line of the diesel locomotive
  11. Operation control excitation schemes of the auxiliary generator
  12. Operation management of the cooling system, including opening/closing blinds and turning the fan motor on/off
  13. Management of sanders of the locomotive
  14. Management and manual reset of the protection relay for the power transmission system

BRUEP

Power transmission regulation and control unit

BRUEP is designed to provide regulatory control over the power transmission by managing the excitation current of the traction generator

The unit receives signals from parameter sensors of the traction generator and traction motors, and sends signals to the power control equipment of the diesel locomotive

03.

BUSI

Control and information collection unit

Monitors and displays on the system unit's screen information about the state of the electrical transmission, main and auxiliary equipment of the diesel locomotive, as well as the status of discrete signals from the electrical system's actuators

In addition, it generates alarm and warning messages, which are used from the archive for quality maintenance of the diesel locomotive.
